Beyond Beyond: Day 14

I finally did a new (well newish) exercise for Kim's Beyond Beyond class--even now, though, it is only one part of many. I need to start getting back on track to doing more. I learn so much. I did the layout portion of the lesson. This one was fun and pretty straightforward and easy. This is my result . . . for what it's worth :)

Texture Tuesday--Free and Easy Edition

I got picked these persistent little flowers from an area in the woods that was completely under several feet of water just a few days ago.

The image is fairly heavily textured with five layers of three of Kim's  textures at different blend modes.

Texture Tuesday--Two Texture Edition

It's been awhile since I have done any of Kim's challenges--neither her Texture Tuesdays nor the assignments from Beyond Beyond. I would like to get back on track.

I took this one at Grayton Beach in Florida. That's where we have gone on Spring Break for the past four years. I have never considered myself a Florida or a beach person in the past, tending toward the North and the mountains, but this particular place in the panhandle of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico has won me over. The town is a little bit hippie and a little bit ritzy.

It is the one vacation we take with only our immediate family (just the four of us) and the one vacation where we indulge ourselves with lots of dinners out and lots of hanging out--there is very little work at all going on. A little bit of laundry, very little cooking (and certainly no real cooking) and a very few short walks here and there. This is in contrast to our other vacations that are all about activity . . . hiking, kayaking, cooking and sharing food with the extended family, etc.

This photo has two of Kim's textures. I saved it as a jpeg and do not remember which textures I used, but I assure you, it did have two.
